Rosebud Army & Navy Surplus is rated 4.6 out of 5 stars, based on 41 reviews!
This place has some of the random stuff you can’t find anywhere else as well as some of the staples of a surplus store. Very friendly and worth checking out.
Acceptable...but some items sell quickly. I like it.?
Excellent army surplus store.
Cheap supplies easy shopping great surplus to go to
Great always has what I need when I need it a bit pricey but faithfully has the necessities I need to complete the task at hand
I love this place. I've been shopping here 24 years now, since I was eight yrs old. I always find something I can use for camping/backpacking at a good deal!
Almost everything you looking for, you can find here at a decent price.
Very friendly and knowledgeable, great stuff at great prices!
Amazing place, I wish I could back soon
Staff is always friendly and attends to questions with friendly attitude & no millenial smugness ; like what ya bothering me for I just work here ...... prices very good but I will miss not getting my boots here. They say they're having trouble getting manufacturer to supply them. Always found Magnums best boot, long wearing and extremely comfortable
Love the staff. Very helpful
Been coming here since I was a kid. Used and new boots, military gear and more.
They have a lot of neat stuff in here. Although I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
A bit of everything
Always a pleasure
Its has great prices and alot of supplies
Nice selection kinda run down prices are fair not great but fair
Let me just say these guys are 10 stars, couldnt be happier, they have everything!!
Great family owned business.
Excellent customer service! Great selection.
Good collection of BDUs to choose from, not so crowded or compact aisles so you can actually walk around. lots of decals, patches, and military/tactical accessories.
I love the store and the staff
Guy there was very nice, very patriotic, does what we all should do, support our troops & law enforcement
great store. Good memories with the old man.
Staff really knows their stuff, has a lot of knowledge about history and has a unique selection of army surplus and gear. Really one of my favorite places in San diego to stop to see what is new.
I loved the friendly nature of the folks in this store, great selection of great high quality military gear!
Staff were friendly and know the things they sell -don't expect them to wander 5 feet from you asking you what you need, this is not a boutique its a surplus... if you want their opinion or help you need to ask (actually help full if you just want to go in and browse) Items were in fair conditions an clean (clothes, boots and hats) Item selection in used section is fair and balanced, they do not care if the boots or jackets are from brand names they place prices based on condition so its good to go on the hunt for $30 US bates boots or $40 US Bellevilles Highly recommended if on budget for boots or jackets
great selection, nice people.
Very friendly and helpful, cool items!!!
Great place to get pants, it is a little bit expensive, payed almost 70. for two pair, and I almost had to beg for a veteran discount, but other than that people that work there are nice and knowledgeable.
Siempre me an atendido muy vien.
I want to thank Rosebud for being there... Disaster struck my home not long ago. I found Rosebud a few months before and started buying the canvas panel's. Good thing I did because I found myself having to camp out at a local campground in East County that allows Tent Camping. Between Rosebud and a well know home building supply store, I was able to build pretty much a portable house using nothing but the cheep poles I bought at that other place, and the canvas panels I bought from Rosebud. What I love most about the tent I built, it withstood a strong winter storm with no damage while other campers and RV's sustained modernity to severe damage caused by high mountain winds and heavy rain followed by freezing rain and overnight snowfall.
pros..this place rocks, if you like para-military stuff for your budding army or navy! just kidding, it is a neat place though. you can find most anything here, which will be made to the rugged standards of the u.s. military. i was looking for a nice floppy hat to wear on my trip to china last year. i found it and it is still with me today. good hat too. there is also a lot of other fun stuff. like heavy duty canvas bags with zippers from the 1940's (read brass and huge teeth, don't get anything caught between those teeth, they will shear it right off). most of the stuff is used but some of it is new. looking for a genuine u.s. army mess kit? how about a gas mask? well they have it. take a look, see if you don't find something you might like.
cons...i don't think they are open everyday, sunday. a lot of strange people are here. i was here cause the golfing range down the street and was just curious. the parking can get tight, just a couple in front of the shop.
LOVE THIS PLACE !!!! I come here for REAL khakis and cool t-shirts all the time. You get the REAL deal here not some cheap knock off pant that I can't stand ! Help is offered but they (blessedly) leave you alone to browse and try stuff on. My favorite t-shirt (besides my S.W.A.T. t-shirt) is the M-16 one that reads "When It Gets Too Hollywood" LOVE IT ! Its an older building and you walk through the "net" when you come in and its just a wonderland of tac and survival gear and attire. LOTS to look at and browse through. They offer both the sand beige and green cammo prints as well. Pants run around 30 (you'll have t hem forever the way they are made!) and t-shirts are 10-20. Stop in you won't be dissapointed !!!
Went there this morning looking for cammo pants for my son. The one person working there was on her phone most of the time we were there, so we just wandered around. But we got out of there with the lone pair of cammo pants in size medium and a shirt for $26.95. Not bad. I see many more trips there over the year.
This place isn't a super sized Army/Navy surplus store, but it always had everything I ever needed when I visited. They have the typical used uniforms in the back with new duty uniforms as well. They have the cargo pants with matching tops and Boonie caps. They have field jackets. Rosebud has a small selection of black boots and desert tan boots. They have knives, ammo pouches, holsters, T-shirts, flashlights, beanies, and all the standard items you expect from a surplus store. It also has the typical smell of a surplus store, if you've been to them then you know what I'm talking about. The smell of old used, dusty gear, you gotta love it!!!!
I needed some new tactical gloves, and the lady at the counter helped me try on different brands and sizes. She was patient with me and I appreciate her help. They offer military discounts. I'm not a tacticool gear head by any means, but if i need any tactical gear items with the quickness, I will definitely stop by Rosebud first to check if they have it.
Well organized. Go early as the place is not air conditioned and that makes it hot in the summer. Prices are comparable to other surplus stores in the area and they have a modest inventory of police type gear of that is what you need.
Rosebud surplus is the only place in San Diego that realizes this is a military town. They actually stock accessories that people need. When I called to ask for a specific item the guy knew what I was talking about and listed multiple options they carry. When I went in to look he remembered the call and pointed me right to the products. I was in and out in 2 minutes and paid less than ordering online. They will get my business in the future.
